How to add Users

When the project coordinators or the POs configure a project, they might need to indicate the name and the e-mail information of people and organizations such as the work package responsible and partners of a project. If these people were or organizations were previously added to the MEL platform, their names will appear while typing in the relevant box while configuring the project. Nevertheless, there might be some cases that the person has not been added MEL “Users” or MEL “Partners” database. In these cases, the person or organization  can be added to MEL through the following channels:

  • From Organize Tab, click on “Users” or “Partners”

  • From the Project Management “Edit” or “Manage” sections

“Organize” Tab to add Users

Organizing users might be needed while assigning responsibilities or choosing leaders of the projects and WPs. This section can be used to add a new person to the database, in case they are not previously added. It is possible to find the person in the MEL User database by searching her/his name through the search bar at the right. If the person that you would like to assign is not yet in the MEL User database, it is possible to add them by clicking on “Add New”. If the person is already in the MEL Database, you will see a button “View”. This button goes to the page of the user and it is possible to see the user details such as location and organization.

To add a new user, please click on the “Add New” button in the top right corner. Upon clicking, a window opens that you will be required to fill in the first/given name and last name/family name of the person that you would like to add to MEL. After filling these two boxes, the other mandatory section “User Name” will be automatically filled. The other details such as nationality, phone number, gender and mail email address are optional to fill. In case you select an action in the future that requires sending an email, you will be asked to enter the email address details of the person that you have added.

Adding users in Project “Edit” or “Manage” section

MEL offers a “Plus” icon in the boxes that require entering a certain person’s name during project configuration. By clicking this icon, the window of adding a person opens with the name, surname, e-mail address, and organization information should be entered. In the project “Edit” section, the boxes to enter a name are in the “General Information” page asking the Project Coordinator and the PO information, with the plus icon. In the project “Manage” section, “Partners” tab, it is possible to click on the plus icon and add a person if the person does not appear after typing in the box.
