When you press SLM submission, a SLM form will show up for you to fill in.
The SLM template is composed by 6 parts:
- Part 1: Name of SLM Technology
- Part 2: Description of SLM Technology
- Part 3: SLM Purpose and Classification
- Part 4: Geographic Locations, Extents and Socio-Ecological context/Environment
- Part 5: Technical Specifications, Inputs and Costs
- Part 6: Impacts, Influencing Factors
In these parts, There are mandatory information and others optional. Every part can be filled and saved separately.
Part 1: Name of SLM Technology
In this part, you start by presenting the SLM technology by its name and where it is implemented, then putting the references for the SLM you are about to fill in: you fill all your information (Name, organization...), the references of the documentation you will use and resources persons from where you extract the data. Every information you fill in should be strictly referenced. These references should be scientifically solid and recognizable in order to get the SLM approved by the Admins. These information are mandatory.

Part 2: Description of SLM technology
In this part, you define and describe the SLM technology. The definition should be a brief and precise presentation of the SLM technology. However, you can develop this definition further more in the description. the definition and description are mandatory information and are referenced to you automatically. Photos of the technology (with references are not mandatory but highly recommended.

Part 3: SLM Purpose and Classification
In this part, you fill in the purpose, type and measures of SLM technology: you choose from the options given in this tool. The list were chosen based on what? in order to classify the SLM technologies. Therefore, these are mandatory information.

Part 4: Geographic Locations, Extents and Socio-Ecological context/Environment
This part is is about defining the context and the extent of the SLM technology. It is composed by 7 sections:
- Section 4.1: Regions/locations where the SLM technology has been applied.
- Section 4.2: Total area where the SLM technology has been applied.
- Section 4.3: Geographic boundary of the area where the SLM technology was documented.
- Section 4.4: List of socio ecological context/environment variables automatically extracted rom the GIS performance/ impact Database.
- Section 4.5: List of environment variables filled by the documentors.
- Section 4.6: Socio-economic conditions.
You fill in the sections the sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.6. The sections 4.4 and 4.5 are filled in automatically through exact name of layers and their sources and why we choose specifically.

Part 5: Technical Specifications, Inputs and Costs
This part is about defining the technical requirements and the cost of such SLM technology. It is composed by 2 sections:
- Technical specifications: In this section, this technical structure of this SLM technology should be described.
- Costs of inputs needed for the establishment of the SLM
- Costs of inputs needed for the establishment of the SLM
These two latter sections are about calculating for the establishment and maintenance of this SLM from these perspectives:
- Labor: How many workers are required to establish/maintain this SLM technology? What is the cost per worker? If there are different categories of workers, you can always add based on the number of categories.
- Equipment: What are the required equipment for establishing/maintain this SLM technology? What is the cost per equipment? and how many of them are needed? If there are different equipments, you can always add based on the number of categories.
- Plant materials: What are the required plant materials for establishing/maintain this SLM technology? What is the cost per material? and how many of them are needed? If there are different materials, you can always add based on the number of categories.
- Fertilizers and biocides: What are the required fertilizers and biocides for establishing/maintain this SLM technology? What is the cost for everyone of them? and how many of them are needed? If there are different fertilizers and biocides, you can always add based on the number of categories.
- Construction materials: What are the required construction materials for establishing/maintain this SLM technology? What is the cost per material? and how many of them are needed? If there are different materials, you can always add based on the number of categories.
- Other inputs: If there are other inputs which can not be classified as the categories mentioned above, you can put them in this section.
- Costs: In this section, the total cost will be calculated.

Part 6: Impacts, Influencing Factors
This part is highlighting the impacts of this SLM technology from different stakeholders and different perspectives. The answers are qualitative. For what reason? It is composed by 8 sections:
- On-site impacts that the SLM technology has shown: These impacts are divided into 3 categories: socio-economic impacts, socio-cultural impacts and ecological impacts. We can say why we choose these impacts.
- Off-site impacts that the SLM technology has shown: These impacts are about the impact of this SLM on risk reduction in the neighbors fields and areas. We can say why we choose these impacts.
- Exposure and sensitivity of the SLM technology to gradual climate change and climate-related extremes/disasters: How does the SLM Technology cope with the changes in the view of achieving its main purposes. These changes are divided in gradual climate changes or extremes disasters (Meteorological/ Climatological/ Hydrological/ Biological disasters).
- Cost-Benefit analysis from land-users perspectives: This section is a comparison between the cost of establishment/maintenance and the benefit for the land user.
- Adoption of the SLM technology: The section is about how much this SLM technolgy, where and how?
- Adaptation: these are two-options questions about how the technology cope with changing conditions.
- Strengths/advantages/opportunities of the SLM technology: The strengths, advantages and opportunities of the SLM technology are discussed from the view of land-user, the view of SLM experts, like the documentors or the resource persons, the view of policy-makers and the view of private sectors.
- Weaknesses/disadvantages of the SLM Technology and ways to overcome: The weaknesses and disadvantages are discussed exactly as the previous section for comparison purposes.
