If the reported type is journal article as per our example, the required metadata to be filled will be as follows and it is divided to several parts:
Part one:
Contains the information added in “Edit” (1) section. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) field is optional and is included in this part.
Part Two:
The following information is required:
All fields marked with asterisk are mandatory.
- Keywords* (1): Add the keywords of the item uploaded.
- Crops (2): Add the researched or mentioned crops in the item uploaded.
- MELSpace* (3): It lists the research category used by ICARDA. Select from the drop-down list the most appropriate category to your uploaded item.
- Abstract* (4): Copy and paste the abstract of your uploaded item.
- URL* (5): Several options are made available under this field (DOI, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, CGSpace and Other URL).

Part Three:
Most of the information required under this section is related to the journal and publisher information.It is also divided to 3 sections:

- Journal title* (3): Add the journal title. You can scroll down the drop-down list and select the journal title from the available journal titles. Or you can add a new Journal title.
- ISSN (3): If you select an already stored journal title the system retrieves automatically the ISSN number related to that journal. Moreover, it is preferable to add its ISSN number if you have added a new journal title.
- Publisher* (3): If you select an already stored journal title the system adds automatically the publisher related to that journal. You have to add the publisher name if it is not stored in the system.
- Publisher Country*(3): The system adds automatically the publisher country for already stored journal titles. However, you can change the publisher country if you want, and add the country for the newly added publishers.
- Publisher City (3): Add the publisher city if you know it.
- ISI Journal? * (3): Specify whether the uploaded journal is an ISI journal or not. Add the impact factor if it is an ISI journal article.
- Language(s)*(3): Select the language of the publication. You can select more than one language if the publication contains more than one.
Part Four:
Most of the information required in this part is related to the research location:
- GPS Coordinates (1): By clicking on “Add GPS Coordinates” a new field will open. Fill in the required information.
- Click on the map to select coordinates (2): You can select the coordinates by simply click on the map.
- Research Country(ies)* (3): Specify the country where the research was conducted. You may add more than one country
- Research City(ies) (4): Specify the city. You may add more than one city.
- Research Period (5): Add the research starting and ending period if applicable.
- Geo admin unit (6): Add an admin Geo unit.
