If you are reporting a file which already exists in another repository, such as CGSPACE and MELSpace, you will be able to harvest the Metadata by adding the link and clicking on “Harvest Link”.
If the harvested file already exists in MEL a notification message will appear.
If the harvested file does not exist in MEL, as per the example presented here below, which is a limited access journal article.
The “Edit details” section will open with already some filled data such as: Report file type (1), Title (2), Reporting CRP (3), Keyword(s) (4), URL (5); Language(s) (6), Research Country (ies)(7), and Copyright (8). Asking the user to complete the missing information.
Note that the system will direct you to “Edit details” instead of “Edit” only when harvesting links.
Once all the information is provided, click on "Save Changes" to report the item.
The reported item will be visible in the Project Deliverable Reportings/Manage Reported Files and it will contain the following information:
- ID (1): Shows the item ID in MEL.
- Title (2): Shows the title of the uploaded item.
- Uploaded by (3): Shows the name of the user who has uploaded the item.
- File (4): Shows the status of the file uploaded (limited access or open access, approved or not approved, can be downloaded or not).
- Type (5): Shows the type of uploaded item (journal article, report, etc...).
- Last edit by (6): Shows the name of the last user who edited the item.
- Last edit on (7): Shows the last date the item was edited.
- Actions (8): Several functions are made available to manage the uploaded file such as:
You can open link to the harvested file from Report file section by clicking on download button.
Or from “Edit” and “Edit details” Actions
By clicking on “Manage files”.
The link to the file will be visible under Files and Links section.
No matter what the copyright of the harvested file is (limited or open access), the system will direct you to the file’s location on CGSpace.
