Add New Capacity Development & Knowledge Sharing Activities
To add a New Capacity Development Activity click on "Add New Capacity Development Activity" button.
The Capacity Development Activity Planning section will open guiding the user through 5 steps:
General Information
It is the first step of the Capacity Development Activity planning module and consists of the main information needed for planning an activity.
Click on "Type" and scroll down to choose from a pre-defined list the available type. All the fields with a red asterisk * are mandatory.
The Capacity Development Activity type is divided to 5 main groups and has been defined by an explanatory box for each group.

- BSc
- MSc
- PhD
- Individual Non-Degree/Internship
- Individual Non-Degree
- Internship
- Seminar/Workshop/Training Course
- Seminar
- Workshop
- Training Course
- Field Training / FFS
- Field Day

Select the type. Each one of the above mentioned types has its own list of data.
Click on "Subject" and insert the title or the subject of the Capacity Development Activity.
Add some keywords using the FAO AGROVOC web service.
Specify the "Expected implementation period". This can be altered in planning, but once saved and altered at later stage,
changes will be recorded.
Specify the organization and the supervisor from the selected organization.
Once all the information is provided.
- Click on "Save a draft" to complete the Capacity development activity planning module later on.
- Click on " Next" to proceed to the next step, which is Funding and reporting.
Funding and reporting
The second step of the Capacity Development Activity planning module.
The Project/Activity-Product box is generated automatically. Information is retrieved from the activity/product, when planning the Capacity Development Activity coming from Project or Activity.
Several options are made available under "Funding source" section. Choose the most appropraite one by ticking on the box next to it.
Once the "Product (Bus)" funding option is chosen, another list of requested information will appear. Add the BUS and the
amount of overall costs of the CapDev Activity if available or its estimation.
If the costs of the CapDev Activity are shared by more than one partner. Click on partner and add the name of the partner involved
Add the output(s) related to the CapDev activity.
Select the "Reporting CRP" from the drop down list.
Once all the information is provided.
- Click on "Previous" to retun back to pervious step.
- Click on "Save a draft" to complete the Capacity development activity planning module later on.
- Click on " Next" to proceed to the next step, which is Participants.
Participants
The third step of the Capacity Development Activity planning module. It consists of all the information required about the participants.
Click on "No" if the participants are not known and specify the participants' gender and number if known.
Or click on "Yes" if you already know the participants and insert the participant’s name from the drop down list. If the participants
are not in the system yet you can enter new users by clicking on "+" button and entering the required information.
Specify whether the participant is part of an institution or not. If yes insert the name of the “Organization” and the “Point of contact” if known.
Add the student’s University of Registration and the supervisor name if are known.
Once all the information is provided.
- Click on "Previous" to retun back to pervious step.
- Click on "Save a draft" to complete the Capacity development activity planning module later on.
- Click on " Next" to proceed to the next step, which is Location.
Location
Location is the forth step of the Capacity Development Activity planning module.
Indicate whether the capacity development activity was conducted in country of origin or not.
Specify where the participant is conducting the Capacity Development Activity and the geographical focus of the thesis.
Once all the information is provided.
- Click on "Previous" to retun back to pervious step
- Click on "Save a draft" to complete the Capacity development activity planning module later on
- Click on " Next" to proceed to the next step, which is the Resources
Resources
It is the fifth and final step of the Capacity Development Activity planning module
Upload files related to the meeting by clicking on "Upload files"
Specify whether a certificate is requested by the end of this CapDev Activity or not.
